(From their Facebook Page) The Roscoe Village Foundation, with the collaboration of the Canal Boat Landing and the Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum, will be hosting Home School Days on Thursday and Friday, September 14th and 15th this year. The Visitor Center will be open both days, 10:00am to 5:00pm. You may purchase your tickets at the main desk on the second floor, receive a map, see the dioramas, do Hands-On Canal Era crafts and view “Ditches of Destiny” in the Theater.

(From their Facebook Page) 10:00-11:30 – Grades K-3: We’ll learn the parts of the tree and how they work together to help trees survive and grow. A walk in the woods will highlight tree growth, tree parts, and tree usage. Each student will plant a tree seed to take home.
12:30-2:00 – Grades 4-6: Which tree is which? For this class, we’ll learn tree characteristics and learn how to identify trees using a dichotomous key during our walk in the woods.
Cost: Free for members, $4.00 per child for non-members. Adults are free. Registration not required, but preferred.
